"Agreed." Star said when he told her that her friend Seth didn't have as much going on as Raven did, and she did agree, deeply agreed to his statement. Star was oblivious to his jealousy, seeing how she thought of Seth as only a friend and didn't think of it anymore than that. She did notice that his tone had changed a bit when things came across Raven, but she said nothing, not wanting to make things worse. Well, it seemed to have changed to her at least.
Starfire looked down at her hands, now suddenly feeling the pressure pile onto her shoulders. Now her heart began to feel heavy and ache a bit. she felt like the time when Robin had left to go on his quest, with the little rain cloud of her head, just a lot less lonely. Of course there was no real rain cloud, just what she felt like. She had seen it on TV every now and then with the shows that Beast Boy watched from time to time. He did watch a lot of weird things..
Leading her irises to the side to watch the waitress lay their food down for them as Robin smiled at her, she reached for a ring. She took a bite from it and made a face at the taste as she slowly placed it on a small plate she had to the side. She'd wait for the main food when it arrived, hoping she didn't pass off as rude to Robin.
Jolting her head back up when Robin started to speak, she looked at him and gave him a smile. :Just worried that we were to bring pretty wrapped items... I do feel, the guilt of not bringing one, but at least I have learned something, yes?" She asked him. "Um, how has the school been for you...?"

"I've never been a fan of school"Robin said watching Star put the half eaten onion ring onto the small plate, seemed they didn't taste as nice as he thought. "I was home schooled." Something about his past, something he hadn't actually meant to say either.
This was something he knew would come up eventually, how can you get close to someone and not let them in? Everything he had been trained to do, all the secrets he had to keep from everyone. The simple things that normal people took for granted he had to shut out and close himself off to. Yet here he was trying to form a relationship, a connection on a deeper level with Starfire. How much did she really know about him? How much should she know about him? Its not like he could phone Bruce and ask. Batman wasn't anyone's go to guy for relationship advice. There was Garth and Vic but he doubted either of them would understand since they wore their history on their sleeves. A cyborg and a mutate were hardly things you could keep hidden away when it was as obvious as they two. Raven was probably in the same boat as him and therefore not a valid option either.
Which really meant he was left sorting this out with Starfire, he could trust her, couldn't he? Damn Bruce for installing that level of paranoia in him, just because his mentor couldn't reach out and trust someone didn't mean that he had to do the same. Star wouldn't misuse anything he told her, he was sure of it.
"Not like onion rings huh?" Dick smiled and looked over at the girl, he hoped his inner debate hadn't looked too weird. "Try a mushroom? The sour cream dip is nice here." Little steps, that was how these things worked right? Just like walking a tightrope, you take small steps until your sure.
"Have I ever told you that I grew up in the circus?" Dick asked carefully, almost shyly as he tried to put himself out there just a little.

"You have the school at your home..?" She asked him, a bit confused. Home meant a place to live, and a school was a building to learn and make friends. Put the two together like he had and he either lived in the school or school came to him, neither seemed to make much sense.
Starfire blinked and took another sip of her mustard through her straw, which still made her heart feel light but as soon as her lips left the thin, circular plastic, the pressure doubled. The silence between them seemed, awkward to the red-head. She held her breath to keep herself from ending in a sigh and making Robin worry, but she soon began to get light-headed and let it out in a quick exhale, turning her head slightly to pant slightly from the length she hadn't breathed. Her face turned red slightly from embarrassment.
Star took another sip of her mustard to make it seem like she was more thirsty instead of breathless.
Starfire smiled sheepishly again and shook her head in answer to his question. It just didn't appeal to her tastes, somehow seeing what the Tamaranians ate on their planet..
Blinking, she did as he suggested. she grabbed her own fork and poked it into a small mushroom as she dipped it into the sauce. Placing it into her mouth she ate it. She seemed to actually enjoy the taste of this 'mushroom'. she grabbed a bigger one and happily ate that one too as he spoke to her again.
"That makes, the sense, seeing as how you are most acrobatical.." Was Acrobatical a word? she didn't know. All she knew was that he was very good at flipping and whatnot.

"Home schooled, it means instead of going to a public school like we are now. You get taught at home. Usually by a parent, or in my case Alfred, my guardians butler." Wham, two big things about his past and background given out just like that and oddly he felt relieved about it. Sure there was guilt that he might give away Batman's secret too but Dick doubted Star would care or even go digging much further than what he told her. She was trusting that way.
"Star, I have to ask something of you. A promise that anything I tell you about my past or about me stays with us. I have a lot of secrets I have to keep and I want you to know me, the real me but they can't be told to anyone else. Its too dangerous for others to know about me and all the things that brings." It was asking a lot of the alien girl but since she seemed to care about him without knowing too much already perhaps it would all be ok?
Though he was aware the conversation had taken a turn for the serious, it was something the dark haired teen had to get out there, probably for his own sanity than anything else.

Star blinked, blushing slightly since she didn't know a simple thing such as that. "I see.." She said simply, taking another mushroom.
Star sat there and blinked as Robin spoke to her seriously. Dangerous? What did he mean, they faced danger all the time. Maybe that's not what he meant. She wondered what it could be, but she wouldn't ask unless he was ready to tell her. She listened carefully to his words, and then placed her hands on his again. "Of course, Robin.." she told him, looking at him with caring eyes. "But, Robin.. If there is something so private in which you do not which to speak of, you do not have to for our sake.. I..." She blushed at what she was going to say even if it was the truth. "I do not care for what the you I do not know.. I care for the you I know now.. So if you are not prepared to talk, I can wait until you are, however long it may be, if ever..." She told him, hoping she made sense.
Star then got up a bit and reached over the table, getting close, but stealing his mushroom instead as she sat back down with a laugh.

"Its not that I don't want to tell you, I've never told anyone that didn't already know. Its sort of like a secret society or something weird like that. "How did you explain that your whole life was split in two? You had to be Dick Grayson, ward of Bruce Wayne and Robin the boy wonder sidekick of Batman. Sure there had been Alfred and Babs to talk to but they already knew it all. Bruce had always decided who knew about their secret, he was always the one to decide who they should trust. No, not this time. This time Dick would decide and he wanted it to be Starfire.
"I've been ready to talk about this stuff for years, just never found the courage or reason to push myself. I don't want to keep things from you. Its not fair and its not good for me." Dick nodded which quickly turned into a grin when Star stole his mushroom. This was good, this was just like the TV shows of couples that they both had seen. This was normal, wasn't it?
"Might take me awhile but I want you to know everything, even if thats selfish of me just needing someone to talk to about it."

Star blinked and listened to him. She didn't say anything. She'd wait until he was done for her to talk. It was the polite thing to do and what she wanted to do, seeing as how she would have nothing to say in the beginning. After all there was bits and pieces that he still didn't know about her. Still he could basically sum it up, but her past wasn't very important. At least, not to her. Maybe to others, but right now she was focused on Robin, concerned for him now.
"If that is what you wish.. But Robin, you need no such fear to tell me anything.. I will always be here for you Robin, no mater what you have done or what has happened... You are my best friend and the 'boyfriend'.... I am willing and ready to listen in anytime that you need it.." She told him to reassure and comfort him in anyway possible. It was true, they had been through many things together, bad and good and nothing about his past would change how she felt about the boy. Her heart was completely set and locked up on him tightly.

Dick grinned "Its nothing bad Star, its just years of things I've never been able to talk about. Like I was a hero long before I met the rest of the Titans, just things like that. Its all just complicated."
Honestly he was taken aback at how easy she was taking all this, to hear Bruce talk you would think that no one would understand the life of secrets and mystery that was part of the costumed hero life. It was why Batman never got close to anyone, least that was why Robin assumed his mentor never did. Though he had seen the glances Bruce had given Wonder Woman that one time he had met her. Maybe Bruce found it as scary as everyone else and the reasons were just excuses?
"You really are amazing, I doubt most people would be so excepting of their " Dick paused still not used to the next word "Boyfriend keeping secrets from them. It means a lot that you trust me so much, more than I can say" giving the girls hand a squeeze Dick smiled softly "I think I'm still a little in shock that everything is going so well still. Half expecting it all to be a dream or some crazy mind control plot."

Star nodded. She honestly couldn't say the same. The only other one that could say that was Beast Boy and the doom patrol. Cyborg maybe, Raven no, and she as royalty, plus not much happened on Tamaran. Plus the time she had gone to Earth she caused quite a bit of damage...
Star continued to look at Robin, heart picking up pace again and blood began to rush through her veins. Ah how she loved to be around Robin, it often did this too her, and she couldn't stop smiling. this time she did though. It was serious talk time not smiley time. She didn't want him to think that she was going to judge him or anything. That was something she would never do. Not in her lifetime.
Blinked as he spoke, she allowed the smile to stretch on her face this time. "Do not tell me you have forgotten that I am unlike most humans, considering that is what I am not.. even if I was, everyone has their reasons for secrets, like you have yours..."

"I doubt I could have fallen for just anyone" The teen smiled genuinely "I'm really glad everything is working out, I used to day dream about this sort of thing. Us on a beach or out on a date but always brushed it off as silly. So much was going on or something would happen that would take up all our time."
Taking a drink from his glass Dick nodded "I'm really glad we got over that bump, took the chance to be something more than just Heroes." This was good though, it was like a part of him that had been missing was being filled in. That closeness that came to opening yourself up to someone you trusted. Someone that you were growing to love more than anything else. Granted Robin could never see a time were he wouldn't want to be a hero but this, whatever it was, with Starfire was making the dedication and fighting to protect the innocent seem must more important, larger than just a simple duty. The boy wonder wanted other to have the chance to feel this happy, content with life and a reason to keep marching onward.
Perhaps a change of subject, something less serious was in order "So how are you finding your first date?" Robin was fairly sure they didn't go on dates on Star's home planet. He saw it as more a sort of medieval courtship but chances are he was totally wrong. That and the fact he really hated the idea of Star having dates with other guys.

Star blushes slightly, smiling as he spoke his words that really made her want to fly and dance around in the air. She looked down, her irises to the side. Now her smile was a bit forced. She would never admit to Robin or anyone the little Jealousy and doubt that she had over Robin with Raven. It wasn't that she didn't like that they were close, she did she liked that her friends were close, but there were times where she really thought he liked Raven more. Maybe it was a human instinct she picked up, but it made her unbelievably jealous. She did think at some time that they would be better for one another than her and him. Maybe she was being silly.
Star looked back up with another real smile. "Yes, I am also glad, but it was thanks to your decision back in Tokyo.." She liked Tokyo, it was what brought Robin and her together, the start of it all. She liked the cherry blossoms that bloomed, the river they went down to see the blossoms, the high up scenery, breaking the dance and game record, the outfit Robin wore when he broke out of jail... She blushed a deep red at the thought and quickly stopped naming things off in her head.
Star's embarrassed but happy green eyes looked up at him. She couldn't help but close her eyes, giggle and clap slightly. "It is most delightful!" She cheered as her eyes opened and looked at him with another blush painting at her cheeks. "But it is you makes it so wonderful.." She had learned from the Television that it was alright to at least drop hints of her feelings towards him on dates. Either that or the TV lied to her.

"It was something you had pushed for, I was just stubborn in accepting the fact that we couldn't avoid this without hurting ourselves." Dick nodded taking another mushroom on his fork and trying a different dipping sauce. Thinking about the girls that he had come in contact over the years only Starfire had caused him to stop and think about something other than friendship or helping them.
Raven had been the person he had felt an affinity with, a life growing up in the shadows, hiding from people and secrets to be kept to protect others but it was for that reason he could never see anything other than the close friendship they shared. If he gave it a bit more thought Robin would probably say they both needed someone different. Someone to reach into the darkness and take their hand to draw them out the world they consider their lot in life. With a smile to Kori Dick hoped Raven would find someone like that one day but woe to anyone that dated hurt her. Not only would he come down on them like fire from the sky but the whole titan team would probably seek revenge in some way. In that regard Beast Boy and Vic would be the worst, sure Star and him would yell and shout but those other two would prank in ways that was probably best not thought about.
"I don't think its me being here that makes it wonderful" Robin smiled softly "I think its Us being here that does that. Also no Garth or Vic to shout and throw food, Raven with her 'your giving me a headache' sigh" Dick grinned, he wouldn't change his friends for anything in the world but right now this was supposed to be about Star and him. Besides if anything came up they had their communicators, though if BB dared use it to interrupt their date for fun there was be some stern words in his future.
"Have you given any thought to what sort of movie you want to see after this?" Dick looked up as the waitress came over to tidy away the emptying plates and setting down their main courses. With another thank you, your welcome she was off again.

"Well I am certain you have learned that I am not for the giving up, yes?" Star asked him, looking up at she sipped her mustard. "I suppose it is in that aspect that we are the same.." She smiled at him.
Star still held doubts in her mind that this wasn't truly happening. To have the best man she has met in her life so far to be on what Earth calls a date that ties in with romance with her was absolutely astonishing to Star. Certainly she's liked him since they first met, but that was by his looks then, and now it's the whole thing of him. There wasn't a single thing she could think of that she didn't like of Robin. He was kind and protective, wise and patient, or so he seemed to her. Sure he was bossy, rude, serious, bad-tempered, obsessive and likes to do dangerous independent things that always makes her worry her head off, but if he didn't have those qualities, he wouldn't be Robin, now would he? she liked him the way he was, and never wanted that to change. She smiled and without thinking, looked down with her hands folded over her heart.
Reverting her attention back to the current conversation, she nodded in agreement. She laughed slightly. That would pretty much be exactly what was happening, he got it pretty much exactly right. The image couldn't help but make her laugh. Plus she has an easy humor..
"I am unaware of what there is to view... Perhaps we should look when we get there...?" Was there any other way to find out what was playing besides renting a movie and going to the theaters? She honestly had no idea.. Maybe the internet, but that was usually left to the other Titans, seeing as how she's not that good with the earth ways and technology yet.. Perhaps Robin could teach her what he knows sometime? She'd have to ask. At least the basics.

"I'm not sure what there is either actually, I figured we'd see what you felt like watching and go from there. You know me, as long as its not romance then it should be fine." Like most males Robin couldn't stand romance films mainly because of all the mushy talk and lack of real plot. Though now that he considered it there did seem to be a lot of mushy talking between Starfire and himself. That was differant though, wasn't it?
"We are stubborn at times" Dick smiled "thats not a bad thing though, means we know what we want and won't give up till we get it. Dedicated, not stubborn" the teen grinned "Sounds better I think, less negative." Star would have to meet Batman, then she would know what stubborn really meant. That was something he hadn't considered would Star have to meet Bruce or Batman or even both? That was a worrying thought, what would they both say but surely it would have to happen. Bruce was like a father to him and the only family he really had. That settled it, he'd contact Bruce later, after the movie and tell him everything. If only to get the lecture out the way, something else he had picked up from Batman. Lectures. No one gave a lecture like he did, Robin didn't even come close. He'd seen Superman wince from Batman's telling offs, kinda scary really. "Hows the mustard here?" Dick asked with a smirk, people always asked how the wine was, why shouldn't apply to mustard too?

Star smiled and nodded in agreement. She knew he liked action, seeing as how he really liked martial arts, so that was what she would choose for sure since he did ask what she wanted to watch. Knowing he didn't like most things girl like like she probably would, that's definitely not in her list of choices tonight, even if most action movies ended up making her cry.
Listening carefully to his words, she giggled. "Then it would appear we are most dedicated yo what we wish for.." She told him with a sip of her mustard. It was true, Robin was 'dedicated' to being a hero and catching Slade. It paid off as far as they were concerned. Star was dedicated to push their relationship farther, and thanks to Tokyo, it also paid off. She was quite pleased with it. She'd go through the most horrible torture scene thousands of times if she got to do this all over with Robin.
She reached for one of the kabob things, hoping she wasn't being rude by doing so and slid the first thing off of the stick as she munched on it. Smiling brightly, she swallowed so she could give him an answer. "It is most delicious! Perhaps you wish to give it a try?" She asked, leaning it forward, towards him a bit, unaware that drinking mustard wasn't exactly the best health benefit for a human...
